Jerry Greenfield is The Wine Whisperer, an experienced public speaker and wine educator. No stuffy sommelier, Jerry makes great wine easy and fun to understand … and enjoy.
Jerry knows that the world of wine can be intimidating and even mysterious. But he “de-mystifies” the subject and offers useful hints, tips, and information that add elegance and fun to every lifestyle.
With a Master of Arts degree in Literature and Theatre, Jerry began his career teaching at the college level. After three years, he moved to Spain where he taught English in Madrid and Seville. After that came a stint in the Israeli movie industry, translating and dubbing feature films from Hebrew into English for foreign distribution.
Back in the US, Jerry started a new career in marketing, with positions as Vice President & Creative Director at advertising agencies in Florida and the Midwest. He has owned his own marketing firm since 1987: Greenfield Advertising Group in Fort Myers, Florida.
A published author, his work has appeared in magazines as varied as Cat Fancy, Flight Training, and TV Guide. His book Maverick — The Personal War of a Vietnam Cobra Pilot, co-authored with Dennis J. Marvicsin, was published in four editions by Putnam. He also writes wine columns for regional publications in Southwest Florida, and conducts wine tasting events for various organizations.
Jerry has traveled extensively in the wine regions of California, France, and Italy, and attends many trade and private tastings throughout the year. He has been teaching wine seminars since 2003. Jerry is also an aerobics instructor and licensed pilot.
For three years he served as Wine Director for the Southwest Florida Wine & Food Fest.
